The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering an exciting Knowledge Management Internship for 2026, open to students and recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in international development, biodiversity finance, and sustainable policy work. This role sits within UNDP’s Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) and its collaboration with the PANORAMA global knowledge platform, both of which support countries in developing innovative financial solutions for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

Internship Overview

- Estimated Monthly Stipend: USD 700 – USD 1,000 (paid in accordance with UN internship regulations)
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the BIOFIN Knowledge Management Specialist, the intern will:
- Research and document biodiversity finance solutions and implementation experiences
- Support the development and updating of global knowledge platforms and databases
- Assist in compiling publications, academic references, and learning resources
- Contribute to analytical reports and guidance materials for country teams
- Summarize research findings into clear, accessible knowledge products
- Support webinars, meetings, and virtual events, including documentation
- Assist with communications activities such as blogs, articles, and digital content
- Monitor and analyze media coverage related to biodiversity finance initiatives
- Collaborate with international partners across regions
Eligibility and Required Qualifications
Education
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme
- In the final year of a bachelor’s degree programme
- Recently graduated (within one year)
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme
Skills and Experience
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Interest or background in biodiversity, environment, finance, or sustainable development
- Experience with communications, digital media, or knowledge platforms is an asset
- Ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural environment
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Languages
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of French or Spanish is highly desirable
- Additional UN languages are an advantage
