UNICEF Is Hiring A Home Based Communications and Advocacy Consultant For 2026

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of children, is inviting qualified professionals to apply for the role of Communications and Advocacy Consultant under its Healthy Environments for Healthy Children initiative. This high-impact consultancy is home-based and aligned with UNICEF Headquarters in New York, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to global advocacy on children’s environmental health.

About the Programme

Children around the world are increasingly exposed to environmental risks such as air pollution, unsafe water, toxic waste, and the growing impacts of climate change. These threats undermine children’s health, development, and survival. UNICEF’s Healthy Environments for Healthy Children programme addresses these challenges by promoting policies, partnerships, and public awareness initiatives that place children at the center of environmental and climate action.

The programme is housed within the CEED Section of UNICEF’s Programme Group and works across sectors to influence decision-makers, mobilize partners, and strengthen global action for safer and healthier environments. Through advocacy, evidence-based communication, and collaboration, the initiative supports long-term solutions that protect children today and in the future.

The Communications and Advocacy Consultant will play a strategic role in shaping how UNICEF communicates and advocates for children’s environmental health at the global level. The consultancy is expected to run from February 2026 to April 2027 and will support the visibility, messaging, and strategic positioning of the Healthy Environments for Healthy Children Global Collaborative.
